Gaudí and the Eixample in six hours
Two Passeig de Gràcia houses, the basilica, then the metro up to Park Güell and down to Casa Vicens.
Four Gaudí buildings in a day is the realistic maximum, and only if every ticket is bought before you leave the hotel — Sagrada Família and Park Güell both sell timed entry and both routinely sell out days ahead in season. The order below climbs once, by metro, and walks the rest downhill. Book the basilica for late morning and Park Güell for mid-afternoon and the route assembles itself around them.

Casa Batlló
Start here rather than at the basilica — the facade faces east and the morning light is the whole point.

Casa Milà (La Pedrera)
Five minutes further up Passeig de Gràcia. If you only pay to enter one of the two houses, this is the one with the roof.

Sagrada Família
Twenty minutes on foot across the grid. The Nativity facade is the finished one and the side most people photograph from the wrong angle.

Park Güell
Arrive by metro from the previous stop
Metro L5 to Vallcarca or bus 92 to the side gate — the 2.5 km walk is uphill through suburbs and worth nobody's afternoon.

Casa Vicens
Downhill into Gràcia. Gaudí's first house, the least crowded of the four, and the one that shows where the style came from.
