Walking routes in Amsterdam
Amsterdam is small enough that the canal ring and the museum quarter are twenty minutes apart on foot, and flat enough that the only thing slowing you down is stepping out of the bike lane. The two routes below split the city the way it actually divides: the 17th-century centre, and the 19th-century museum district south of it.
Dam Square out along the Prinsengracht to the Jordaan, back through the Nine Streets to the flower market.
Vondelpark into the Van Gogh and the Rijksmuseum, then east to the brewery and the Albert Cuyp market.
