The Uffizi, the Pitti and the Oltrarno in six hours
Two of the great collections either side of the river, with the artisan quarter and a hillside garden between them.
Six hours and only 1.6 km of it walking, because this is the day where the stops are the distance. The Uffizi and the Pitti are both enormous and both sell timed entry; book the Uffizi for opening and the Pitti for mid-afternoon and the rest of the route fills the gap on its own. The Oltrarno between them is still a working quarter of gilders and frame-makers, which is the part of Florence that the other side of the river no longer has.

Uffizi Gallery
First entry, booked. Two hours and the Botticelli rooms, rather than four hours and no memory of any of it.

Ponte Vecchio
Cross on the Vasari Corridor's level below it. Fifteen minutes is enough — you are coming back over it later.

Terraced up the hill east of Boboli, usually near-empty, with a wisteria tunnel and the best private view of the Duomo.
