The Altstadt and the Eisbach in three hours
Marienplatz and the market, the cathedral and the Residenz, finishing at the river surfers.
Munich's old town is a fifteen-minute square and the walk only leaves it at the end, to reach the standing wave in the Englischer Garten where people surf a river in the middle of a landlocked city. Time the start for five to eleven or five to twelve: the Glockenspiel on the Neues Rathaus only performs on those hours.

Marienplatz
The Glockenspiel performs at 11 and 12, and at 5 in summer. It takes fifteen minutes and is gloriously anticlimactic.

A permanent food market of 140 stalls with a beer garden in the middle that changes its brewery six times a year.
